The Rainy Morning That Reminded Me to Slow Down

I was running late, as usual, juggling my coffee, bag, and a stack of papers.
Then it started raining — hard, sudden, unexpected.

My first instinct? Panic. I rushed for cover, splashing through puddles, muttering under my breath. Everything felt urgent, chaotic, out of control.

But then I noticed something: the rhythm of the rain hitting the pavement, the smell of wet earth, the way people around me paused to adjust their umbrellas. For the first time that morning, I simply observed.

It was a small moment, but it hit me: life moves fast, and most of us are in a constant rush, missing these tiny, ordinary miracles. The rain wasn’t an inconvenience — it was a reminder to slow down, to notice, to breathe.

I let the coffee spill a little. I laughed. I walked slower. And somehow, the world felt lighter.

Sometimes life forces you to pause.
Sometimes it’s as simple as standing in the rain.
