Jade Mountain Resort

Location: Soufrière, St. Lucia  |  The Vibe: Open-wall tropical drama, iconic Piton views, and ultimate cliffside seclusion.

First Impressions & Arrival

Perched high on the lush coastal mountains of St. Lucia, Jade Mountain redefines what a Caribbean resort can be. Arriving at the property, you realize immediately that this is a place designed to dissolve the barrier between you and nature. There are no closed hallways or conventional hotel lobbies here; instead, massive bridge walkways lead you through open-air architecture floating high above the turquoise Caribbean Sea, framing an uninterrupted, jaw-dropping postcard view of the towering Pitons rising straight out of the water.

The Sanctuary

We stayed in a Star Sanctuary suite, which features a revolutionary design: the entire fourth wall of the room is completely missing. Without glass or screens blocking your view, your bedroom, living space, and private infinity pool open directly to the warm sea breeze and the magnificent mountain vista.

The private infinity pool sits right at the edge of your suite, shimmering with iridescent glass tiles that catch the tropical sunlight. The bed is draped in breezy white mosquito netting, positioned so you can wake up to sunrise over the peaks. The bathroom is vast, open-concept, and designed with local tropical hardwoods and stone.

The Amenities

  • Private Infinity Pools: Every single sanctuary features its own massive private pool stretching out toward the horizon.
  • Celestial Terrace: A breathtaking rooftop lounge open at night for stargazing, cocktail sipping, and soaking in the cool mountain night air.
  • Emerald Restaurant & Bar: Serving hyper-fresh, organic cuisine harvested directly from the resort's own agricultural estate in the valley below.

The Verdict

Who is it for? Honeymooners, romantics, and architecture lovers looking for the most dramatic open-air resort experience on earth. Who should skip it? Travelers who require air-conditioned, fully enclosed glass hotel rooms and dislike local wildlife sounds.

The Scorecard

Design 5/5 — Revolutionary open-wall architecture
Value 4.5/5 — High-end luxury justified by private pools and iconic views
Service 5/5 — Dedicated major-domos cater to your every need
Sleep Quality 4.5/5 — Lulled to sleep by tropical breezes and ocean waves

The Final Word: Jade Mountain doesn't just give you a room with a view—it makes you a permanent part of the most dramatic landscape in the Caribbean.
