Saffire Freycinet

Location: Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania, Australia  |  The Vibe: Iconic stingray-inspired coastal architecture, pink granite hazards, and sublime Tasmanian wilderness luxury.

First Impressions & Arrival

Overlooking the breathtaking expanse of Great Oyster Bay and the iconic pink granite peaks of the Hazards mountains, Saffire Freycinet is a masterwork of coastal design on Tasmania's pristine east coast. The main lodge, shaped dynamically like a stingray gliding over the dunes, features sweeping floor-to-ceiling glass that frames the water and sky in every direction. Arriving along the scenic coastal highway, you are immediately welcomed with artisanal Tasmanian cider and an open invitation to completely unwind in nature.

The Suite

We stayed in a Private Pavilion, featuring soaring curved timber ceilings, bespoke contemporary furniture, a central designer fireplace, and expansive glass walls opening out to a private deck facing the bay.

The bathroom is a sanctuary of relaxation, centered around a deep freestanding soaking tub positioned right against the window for uninterrupted views of the Hazards mountains. A complimentary mini-bar stocked with local Tasmanian wines and artisanal cheeses adds a wonderfully indulgent touch.
