This afternoon, I was caught in the rain — the sudden, heavy kind that makes everyone scatter for cover. My first instinct was to run, to protect my clothes, my plans, my sense of control.
But halfway down the street, something in me shifted. I slowed down. The rain was cold, yes — but also alive. The air smelled fresh, the noise softened, and the city seemed calmer somehow.
I stood there for a moment, soaked but strangely content. It reminded me how often we resist what life brings us — the unexpected delays, the off days, the plans that shift. But sometimes, what we resist has its own quiet beauty.
We can’t stop the rain, but we can stop running from it.
Today, if things don’t go as planned, try pausing before reacting. Maybe — just maybe — what feels like an interruption is really an invitation to slow down, notice, and breathe.
